Abbey Picks Up State AwardAll-Time Leader in Wins Kearney, Neb. – Nebraska-Kearney senior wrestler Bryce Abbey has been named one of three College Senior Wrestlers of the Year by the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association (KWCA). Abbey, a native of Goodland, Kans., and the rest of the award winners will be honored October 29th in Salina, Kans. Abbey is UNK's second four-time All-American at the NCAA Division II level, joining Ali Elias ('91). Going 34-11 this year and placing fifth at the NCAA Championships in Omaha, Abbey finished his career with 134 wins, the most in school history. He also is a three-time member of the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) All-Scholar team. Matt Murray of Nebraska and Scott Coleman of Iowa State are the other collegiate wrestlers to be honored along with Abbey. |
