National Dual Bracket Released

Lopers to Face Wisconsin-Parkside

Kearney, Neb. –   The 4th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney wrestling team will wrestle 13th-ranked Wisconsin-Parkside in the first round of the NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals this Friday in Cleveland, Ohio.

The pairings for the 16-team dual tournament were released last night by the National Wrestling Coaches Association.

The Parkside dual will begin at 10:00 a.m. CST. The winner will move on to face either 5th-ranked Mercyhurst (Pa.) or No. 9 San Francisco State at 2:00 p.m. CST.

Parkside has two nationally-ranked individuals in Matt Meyer at heavyweight (third) and A.J. Morgan at 165 lbs. (eighth).

Two wins by the Lopers and they will most likely face top-ranked Nebraska-Omaha in the semifinals. UNO faces No. 10 Findlay (Ohio) in the first round and then either No. 8 Mankato State or No. 12 Shippensburg, Pa., in round two.

UNK won the event two years ago by beating the top two teams in the country in the semifinals and finals. Last year, the Lopers posted a 1-2 record at the meet.

The Lopers will be at full strength this weekend as senior Adam Keiswetter (133 lbs.) and sophomore Caleb Young (184 lbs.) return to the lineup after missing some mat time with injury.
