Athletics Announces Staff AdditionsKearney, NE – Nebraska-Kearney Athletic Director Jon McBride announced today that Shawn Fairbanks and Riley Ross have joined the Lopers administration. Fairbanks is the new Assistant to the Athletic Director/Marketing while Ross is a graduate assistant who will work with the wrestling team and assist Fairbanks with the Lopers marketing efforts. Fairbanks most recently was an athletic intern at Idaho State University. Before that, he earned a Master’s degree in Physical Education, and was a Physical Education teaching assistant, at Western Illinois University. A native of Neodesha, Kans., Fairbanks ran track at Emporia State and earned a B.S. degree in Health Promotion Education from ESU in 2002. Ross, from Colby, Kans., was an athletic intern at the University of New Mexico last year. A two-time All-American wrestler for the Lopers, Ross graduated from UNK in 2003 and is now working towards a Master’s degree in Sports Administration. |
