Ben Nylander is in his second year as a graduate assistant cross country and track coach at Nebraska-Kearney.

      He assists head coach Luke Mosey in all aspects of the cross country program and then works with the middle and long distances in track.

      A native of Lisbon, N.D., Nylander is a 2005 graduate of Concordia-Moorhead College (Minn.), an NAIA school. He ran cross country  and track for the Cobbers, earning all-conference honors 12 times.

      In 2004, he was the MIAC (Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) indoor champion in the 1,000 meter run.

      He also worked with Mosey at Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton High, serving as the distance running coach. 

      Prior coming to UNK, Nylander was a teacher at West Fargo (N.D.) High School.
