Kearney, Neb. - Two starting members of the 4th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney football team have been voted to the 2009 ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) College Division Academic All-District 7 team.
The players are senior middle hitter
Nikki Scott (Broken Bow) and senior defensive specialist/libero
Kelli Wemhoff (Humphrey).
Scott, a 2-time RMAC Academic Player of the Year, is on the 1st-team and will move on to the national ballot where they could earn Academic All-American honors; Wemhoff was a 3rd-team selection.
The College Division includes NCAA Division II & III schools, as well as the NAIA; District 7 encompasses schools in Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming and the Dakotas.
