Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney women's swimming & diving team got back into the pool this past weekend by competing in the annual Grinnell College Invite in Iowa.
UNK scored 133.50 points to place
7th in the 10-team field. Luther College of Iowa placed 1st (575.50) with host Grinnell runner-up (460.0). The meet was held Friday and Saturday.
In the pool, UNK scored 48 of its points in four relay events. Individually, Kansas sophomore
Heather Glodt has the Aqualopers best finish of the meet – fourth – as she swam a 1:06.27 in the 100 fly.
To make the event finals, Glodt was at a 1:05.25.
UNK racked up 12 points in the 100 breaststroke as Glodt was 12th (1:23.12), Minnesota sophomore
Abby Jones was 11th (1:19.72) and Lincoln freshman
Brianna Nelsen was 6th (1:15.61; 1:14.78 in prelims).
Nelsen also tied for 10th in the 50 free (27.02) with Idaho freshman
Cidnee Maggart coming in 5th in the 1,650 free (19.05.00). Finally, Nelsen (200 fly/2:35.83) and Nelsen (200 breast/2:41.93) each had 8th place efforts in two other individual events.
On the boards, Kansas sophomore
Jourdan McKevery was runner up at one meter (36.145) and then placed 5th at three meters (321.75). Bartley sophomore
Kim Ellicott also scored points in each event, coming in 9th place.
UNK hosts the College of St. Mary next Saturday in the Cushing Pool
