Kearney, Neb. - Both Nebraska-Kearney track & field teams maintained over a 3.00 cumulative GPA for the 2009-10 year and have thus made the USTFCCCA (U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association) national lists.
To be eligible for the All-Academic Track & Field list, a squad must have a 3.00 GPA. On the women's side, a total of 67 teams were at a 3.00 or better while 34 men's teams made the mark.
The UNK posted a 3.38 GPA while the Loper men came in at a 3.03. The University of Incarnate Word of Texas (3.64) had Division II's best women's team GPA with Slippery Rock of Pennsylvania leading the men at a 3.58.
Finally, the Academic Teams of the Year were Ashland (Ohio) on the men's side (indoor & outdoor) and in the women's indoor season and Grand Valley State, Mich. (women's outdoor). The Academic Team of the Year goes to the squad that has the highest finish at the NCAA Division II Championships with a 3.00 GPA or better.
