Kearney, Neb. - The 4th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney wrestling team sent 16 individuals to Saturday's York College Open and eight managed to place in the top six.

Leading the way was Lincoln true freshman
Chase White, who improved to 31-8 on the year by going 4-0 at 157 lbs. Columbus junior
Austin Carmichael was poised to face White in the finals but withdrew from the tournament due to inury.
Also placing second were juniors
Nick Bauman (Broomfield, Colo.) and
Drew Comito (Spokane, Wash.) with redshirt freshman
Nick Ridgeway (Columbus) third, sophomore
Tim Crocker (Kearney) fourth and true freshman
Garrett Grantom (Willis, Texas) and
Colton Johnson each finishing fifth.
Bauman went 3-0 before falling to UNL's Specer Johnson, 7-3, in the 197 lbs. finals. At 174 lbs., Comito lost to York's Jacob McCoy in a first place match while Ridgeway won his last six matches to end a long day 7-1.
Next, Crocker fell to Alex Stepanek of Concordia for third place at 141 lbs., Grantom placed fifth at 125 lbs. thanks to four falls on the day and Johnson won his last three matches by injury default to come in fifth at 157 lbs.
The Loper varsity heads to New Mexico and Colorado this week.
