Kearney, Neb. - The Nebraska-Kearney men's and women's tennis teams each were selected for the 2012 NCAA Division II Championships Monday night.
A maximum of 48 schools make the men's and women's field. The Central Region, on both sides, receives four bids with the RMAC Tournament and NSIC Tournament (women's only) winners receiving automatic bids.
The top two seeds in the Central host a dual with the winners advancing to the "Sweet 16" May 16-19 in Louisville, Ky. The complete regional brackets are available at

The UNK women (17-7), RMAC regular season champs, are the second seed in the region and will face RMAC-member Western New Mexico for the third time this year on Monday, April 30th, at Harmon Park.
First serve is set for 12:00 p.m.
This past Saturday, the Mustangs beat the Lopers, 5-4, in the finals of the RMAC Tournament. Exactly a week earlier in Pueblo, Colo., Kearney posted a 7-2 win over Western.
UNK is led by sophomore
Vanessa Gunawan (Indonesia), the RMAC Player of the Year, while WNMU's top player is RMAC Freshman of the Year Ganna Tiurina. Both play No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles for their respective teams.
Overall, the women are 3-5 in five previous NCAA trips, making the Sweet 16 in 2009 and 2010.
The Loper men (17-9) are also the second-seed and will face RMAC rival and third-seeded Metro State. That dual will start around 3:00 p.m. Monday.
On April 12th in Denver, UNK beat the Roadrunners (16-10) by a 6-3 score.

Josh Raymond (Elkhorn) and Metro senior Lucio Cangiano are two of the Central region's best players and will square off at No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles.
The UNK men are 5-10 all-time in the NCAA's, reaching the Sweet 16 in 2005, 2006 and 2011.
