Kearney, Neb. – Nebraska-Kearney has five home events this weekend and athletic department officials are encouraging Loper fans to wear pink at each contest.

The Loper women's soccer team closes out their home schedule Friday (7:00 p.m.) vs. Emporia State and Sunday (1:00 p.m.) vs. Washburn. Next, the 16th-ranked Loper volleyball team hosts Lindenwood and 12th-ranked Central Missouri on Friday and Saturday nights. Both matches tip at 7:05 p.m.

Finally, the Loper football team hosts Division II powerhouse Pittsburg State Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Loper fans that buy a day of ticket to football on Saturday will receive free admission to volleyball that night. Volleyball fans that buy their tickets on-line (www.lopertickets.com) for Friday night will receive free admission to football.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and UNK is teaming up with Kearney Tackles Cancer all weekend. A bra decoration contest will help raise money for KTC, an organization that has risen over $25,000 to benefit local cancer patients.

Individuals, area groups and organizations are encouraged to decorate a bra and submit it to the UNK Athletic Offices in the Health & Sports Center by noon on Thursday, October 22nd. Classy creativity is encouraged and, with each submission, a one-sentence write up is needed on who submitted the bra.

The bras will be displayed on the soccer game Friday evening and the football and volleyball events on Saturday. The winner will be announced Saturday night during the UNK-UCM volleyball match.
