Kearney, Neb. - The Nebraska-Kearney football team is ranked 8th in the final AFCA (American Football Coaches Association) Division II poll.

The poll is voted upon by a panel of head coaches from around the nation. Prior to the playoffs, UNK was ranked 6th, its highest ever ranking at the Division II level.

UNK (11-2) received 413 points and was the only RMAC school in the Top 25. NW Missouri State, which beat Grand Valley State for the national title, finished No. 1
