Kearney, Neb. - The Nebraska-Kearney football team has placed 12 players on the 2009 Omaha World Herald All-State Division II team.

The squad is chosen by the four D2 head coaches in the state, along with the sports staff of the World Herald.

This year, UNK senior safety Jake Mandelko was picked as captain of the defense. Wayne QB Silas Fluellen captains the offense.
