Kearney, Neb. - Nebraska-Kearney head football coach
Darrell Morris announced today that former Loper assistant coach Scott Hoffman will be the team's new wide receivers coach.
Hoffman, a Scottsbluff native, replaces Grant Mollring who recently left UNK to be the offensive coordinator at Doane.
Most recently the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at NAIA Concordia U. in Seward, Hoffman is no stranger to to the Lopers. Holding degrees from both UNK and Nebraska-Lincoln, Hoffman spent 12 years with UNK (1984-96) as an offensive assistant and offensive coordinator.
Hoffman then went on to be the head coach at NAIA Dakota State (1996-99) and Wayne State (2000-04). At DSU, he was the 1998 SDIC (South Dakota Intercollegiate Conference) Coach of the Year.
In addition to his head coach duties, he also coached the Trojan QB's and offensive line while being the QB's and RB's coach at Wayne.
UNK, coming off an 11-2 season, will begin spring workouts --- weather permitting -- on Monday, March 22nd.
