Kearney, Neb. – Former Nebraska-Kearney shortstop Tyler Keeble is now playing with the Orange County (Calif.) Flyers of the independent Golden Baseball League.
The Lopers starting shortstop in 2007 and 2008, Keeble is batting .411 with one homer and eight RBI's in 13 games played (as of June 8th).
His average is currently third best in the league.
A native of Mesa, Ariz., Keeble played two years at Scottsdale C.C. before coming to Kearney. He set the school-record for assists in a season in 2007 (151) and then broke that mark the following spring (175).
Keeble was a part of two RMAC Tournament championship teams and played in two NCAA Tournaments as well.
Based in Anaheim, the Flyers current roster includes former Major League players Keith Ginter and Byung Hyun Kim. The GBL features teams in California, Arizona, Hawaii, Utah, Canada and Mexico.
