Sara Wissing shot a 78, the second lowest score in the field, in the qualifying round of the 2010 Nebraska Women's State Match Play Tournament.
A Hastings native, Wissing shot the 78 on July 6th at Lincoln's Firethorn G.C. J.C. Stevenson, a veteran of state tournaments, had the low score at a 77.
In the first round of the mach play tournament, Wissing lost 2 and 1 to former Wichita State golfer Kristen Kosch. She has go on to win two more matches and will face Susan Marchese for the title on July 8th.
Earlier this summer, Wissing placed second (157/82-75) to Stevenson (146) at the Western Stroke Play Tournament at the Lake Mahoney G.C. in North Platte.
