Kearney, Neb. - Former Nebraska-Kearney defensive end
Mason Brodine has been signed to the Oakland Raiders practice squad.
The Elm Creek native played in all four preseason games with the Raiders, registering four tackles. NFL teams had to trim their rosters to 53 players this weekend and Brodine was one of the players waived
On Sunday, however, he was one of eight players to sign with the Raider practice quad.
Other Lopers to recently spend time on an NFL practice squad include tight end Joel Jacobs (2004-05/New England Patriots) and receiver Richie Ross (2006-07/Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans).
