Kearney, Neb. – Nebraska-Kearney head football coach
Darrell Morris today announced the names of 29 high school seniors and five transfers who will play for the Lopers this fall.
He noted more players will be added to the 2013 roster in the coming months. This first group of newcomers features 21 Nebraska natives, seven from Florida, two from Kansas and one each from Alaska, Colorado, Missouri and Nevada.
By position, the group breaks down to eight linebackers, four defensive linemen, four offensive linemen, three defensive backs, three quarterbacks, three defensive ends, three wide receivers, two running backs, two athletes, one tight end and one kicker/punter.

Of note, the Lopers added three new QB's, including the 2009 Gatorade State Player of the Year in Bronson Marsh (Millard South H.S.), as well as Kearney native Luke McNitt and Florida product Kalen Woodyard.
Marsh, who is currently going through winter workouts, has three years of eligibility remaining after playing at Nebraska-Lincoln. For the Patriots, he set an 11-man state record with over 6,826 career passing yards. He capped his senior season with a 13-0 record and the Class A state title.
McNitt led the Bearcats to an 8-2 record in 2012, amassing 2,147 yards of total offense and having a hand in 29 touchdowns.
Woodyard, who attended football camps at Stanford, Georgia Tech and South Florida, is one of two new Lopers from Ocala-West Port High School. Free safety Jerald Whitehead also is coming to UNK, one of seven recruits from the Sunshine State.
Kearney then went to the Great White North to pick up defensive end Lincoln Tulimasealii from Anchorage West High in Alaska.
UNK will begin spring workouts next Month. The Lopers start the 2013 with a home game vs. Washburn (Thursday, September 5th).
