Once home to a New York Yankees minor league squad, Memorial Field is now the home of the University of Nebraska at Kearney baseball team. Built in 1946, the stadium has undergone a series of renovations since minor league baseball was played at the park.

Located to the north of campus, the city-owened Memorial Field also contains one of the premiere practice facilities in NCAA Division II, consisting of the Jiede Baseball Conference Center and Joba Chamberlain Indoor Hitting Center, named after former UNK pitcher and World Series champion Joba Chamberlain.

Whether UNK is playing fall ball or contending for MIAA championships in the spring, there’s space for more than 2,000 Loper fans at Memorial Field. The ballpark, which now features an artificial synthetic infield playing surface, has left field dimensions of 355 feet, centerfield of 395 feet and right field of 325 feet.

The Loper brand is also on display with new gold and blue mesh banners wrapping the outfield fence.

Just down the left field line is the Loper baseball team’s everyday home. The complex has a newly remodeled locker room and team meeting area, along with a weight room that was renovated in 2017, that provides UNK players and coaches a top-of-the-line practice facility.
